My focus has been on making healthy herbal products you can integrate into your life. And in adding herbals to my property, where I know how they are grown, and they are part of my world and thus a part of me, that then becomes a part of my products that then makes a connection of me to you to them. Powerful medicine. But, I am not practicing medicine. I can evaluate lifestyle and make recommendations on herbs you might want to integrate into your life, but if you have any serious medical conditions, are on any prescriptions, are pregnant or nursing, you should always talk to your doctor about any changes I may recommend. And, even if you are healthy, always start slowly with a new herb or food. Every body is biologically different.
My herbal practice is focused on preventive living to achieve maximum health. It is my belief that plants are our allies in this endeavor. Our bodies are created to keep us healthy - just look at how the skin heals when injured, or how the body fights off a cold. If we give our bodies what they need to thrive, we become alive. The healthiest of diets are rich in plants.
Many of the wild plants around us have been used for eons to treat ailments and as tonics, to be taken over time to build up our resistance to disease. The spices used in cooking have some of these same qualities. They are probably the closest some of us get to the wilder plants.
Lastly, part of the power of plants is the world they live in. Make sure being out in nature is part of your life. And take time to slow down, look at all the plants around you, and breathe in the fresh air. Breathe it in deeply.
